Brazilian non-governmental organization with a socio-educational-environmental axis
Instituto Bioregional is a non-governmental organization, located in the rural area of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, in Chapada dos Veadeiros. Among its projects are:
- Ecoaldeia Aratikum: a sustainable human settlement (ecovillage);
- Pedagogical Ecocentro: a constant teaching/learning center for transitions towards sustainability and the preservation and restoration of the Cerrado bioregion
- Creation and management of conservation units (RPPNs): under development
- Bioregional political articulation: participation in local and regional community councils and in the Pouso Alto Agroecology Network.
The organization was officially established in 2012. It is a group of diversified backgrounds around the Culture of Sustainability. It aims to enable the creation and incubation of knowledge, dreams and good practices for a better, fairer, viable, harmonious, joyful and sustainable world.
Instituto Bioregional carries out courses, workshops, experiences, joint efforts and volunteer programs. It is based on circular decisions, bioregional economics, permaculture, eco-pedagogy and low-cost social technologies.
It is a family-owned and operated business.
