About this Speaker

Konkankoh has more than 40 years of diverse and global experience across corporate and social entrepreneurship development sectors. This spans 22 years in the social security department of Cameroon, senior leadership, and entrepreneurial roles in the social innovation strategy Global Ecovillage Network GEN Africa, of Defend the Sacred Alliance, and Ashoka Europe Elder's Council endeavors in social transformation, environmental management, and sustainable development consulting. He is CEO of Better World Cameroon since 1996 & Founder of Bafut Ecovillage in 2012.

He is leading a green revolution youth development Platform on Systems Change in Portugal using Bafut community of practice, an innovative method to resolve complex societal challenges in organizations with speed, at scale, sustainably. He advises a diverse group of young social innovation change makers who are developing network-weaving societal platforms in domains of education, social inclusion, healthcare, civil society governance, and livelihoods. His contribution to GEN is an inspiration of how we can pool our common experience to develop a post-pandemic approach to system's change in a way that builds communities for the future.

Bafut Ecovillage was founded in 2013 as a place for identifying, nurturing, and equipping Africa’s future leaders with experiences, insights, and tools of partnerships so that African-led solutions are developed as a response to the global crisis.

Its team’s principles of upscaling the village to a peace village are based on the understanding that a new framework is needed to rebuild structures of global environmental ethics based on openness, transparency, and interconnectedness and using Permaculture networks to enhance peer-to-peer learning and cross-border collaborations.
